Hi Emma,
I got a letter today saying I wasn't accepted for the primary school teaching course next year. It is a bit of a disappointment but never mind! Things aren't always what you want and worrying about them doesn't help!
I hope you are fine Miss Em and having a great time in Beijing. I love you very much and miss you heaps.
Lots and lots of love,

Hi Emma,
I had some news about you today! Grandma phoned me this morning from New Zealand. Many months ago we had asked a Chinese lady in New Zealand to help us get news of you and she had asked a friend in Beijing to help do this. Apparently this friend has found NaiNai and talked to her. Nainai had said that you are well and that you are happy, which is fantastic news! It is a great relief to hear that you are OK! It seems that Nainai also said that it wasn't our business how you were. (Obviously I don't have the same opinion but that is sort of expected. Marriage breakup is a terrible thing for everyone who is involved and relationships get damaged.) So it seems that you are living in Beijing with Nainai and that is not a bad place to be. I'm so glad you are happy and well Em. Even though the Australian court orders allow me see you four times a year they aren't legally recognised in Beijing, so it will be almost impossible for me to see you very soon. But I'll always be thinking of you Em. Hopefully I also be able to get little snippets of news about you now and then so that will be great! Another good thing is that if I send things to Nainai's address in Beijing then it is possible that you will recieve them, which is fantastic. I did some more Christmas shopping in the city for you today Em and I will post them off to you next week. It will be great if you can recieve them!
Wishing you all the very best Em and I am so glad to hear that you are happy and well!!!
Lots and lots of love,

Hi Emma,
Hope you are well Miss Em. Well, I will have my interview for the primary schooling teaching course today. I hope it goes well! It is a big change so I hope I'm doing the right thing.
I have been in Wellington since Tuesday (16/11/04). It has been very nice here with lovely sunny weather and clear skies. I took a couple of photos that you might like. One is the view of Wellington from the top of the cable car and the other is of the city square.
I bought a few knickknacks in Wellington yesterday i.e. a wooden kiwi shpaed pencil sharpener and a pair of NZ socks. I'll post them to you with some some things I have bought for you for Christmas.
Love you heaps and heaps Emma and hope everything is going well for you. You are always in my thoughts.
Lots and lots of love,

Hello Em,
I hope you are fine. I'm going to New Zealand next Tuesday (16/11/04) for my interview for the year-long primary school teaching course. The interview is on Friday (19/11/04) and I fly back on Sunday (21/11/04). I'm not sure how it will go but I think it will be a good experience to try it. As I mentioned before, working in a laboratory at a paint factory is not a bad job but after 16 years I think it would be good for me to try something new. I'll be staying with your Grandma and Grandpa in New Zealand, which will be very nice.
Wishing you all the best Em and sending you all my love :-).
Lots and lots of love,

Hi Emma,
Welcome to November Emma. I hope you are fine. I finished my exam yesterday so that was a big relief. It was pretty tough to finish it in the 3 hours and I wasn't sure about some of the questions. However I think I should be able to pass it at least (I hope so anyway!). I sat the exam at Moonee Valley Race course, which was a new experience for me. I had to catch the train in in the morning as my car is still not working properly! Catching the train is a nice way to travel though. However you do need to be more organised (which can be a challenge for me!).
Lots and lots of love,
Aaron :-)
