Hi Emma,
Hope you are well. I'm at Deakin University tonight using their computers. I have two weeks study break now but the computers here are a lot faster than my old one at home, so I still like coming here!
Last Saturday morning(26/6/04) I had a Chinese test. I don't think I did that well. Ah well, I just hope I am making some kind of progress (or least not going backwards!). In the afternoon I did a bit of housework. Unfortunately I started to get a cold and runny nose then too. The weather is quite cold and damp at the moment. I still have a bit of a runny nose now but it is getting better. In the evening I watched a video "The Third Man", which I had borrowed from Deakin Library. It is an old black and white movie set in Vienna after the Second World War. I had seen it already a long time ago but I had forgotten how good it was. I think you would really like it when you are a bit older.
On Sunday (27/6/04) went to church in the morning and did some gardening in the afternoon. I think I need to use my free time in this study break to do some more gardening. It could really do with some attention!
I hope you are well Miss Em. It is way too long since I saw you last. I remember one time when I was seeing you every second weekend and half the holidays that I didn't see you for about three weeks because of the school holiday break. After that you said that you felt like that you had never met me (but I think you were pulling my leg!). Anyway when we do finally met again you will be able to read this diary and get to know me again if you need to :-)
Love you heaps and heaps Emma

Hi Emma,
Hope everything is fine with you. Lulu is fine now and is looking a lot better. She can eat her food without throwing it all back up, which is a big relief!
On Saturday morning (19/6/04) I watched a Chinese film for Chinese class called "Carrying my Father on my back going to school". I had seen it before but it is a nice movie. It makes you realise how important education is and how everyone should be allowed access to a decent education. In the afternoon I caught the train into the city to buy a late birthday present for your cousin, Nikita. I should have done this a couple of weeks ago really! Oh well, better late than never I guess :-)
Yesterday I went to lunch with some people from my German Conversation group. The group only meets ocassionally now but it is always nice to go to it. My German teacher, Uschi, was there. I didn't say a lot (as my German is not that good) but it was a nice social occasion.
Tonight I went the English Conversation Group. Meredith was the only other helper there tonight as Alex wasn't feeling too well. Initially there were only two students - a Chinese lady called Qin and a Korean man called Jung. However two large Korean familes came a bit later so that made it quite a nice group. Everyone was keen to practise and to learn English, so it made it quite fun :-)
Hope you are well Miss Em. I'm thinking of you all the time.
Lots and lots of love,

Dear Emma,
I hope you are well Miss Em. Lulu has been quite unwell for the last week, which has been a real worry. I had to take her to the Animal Emergency Centre last Wednesday (9/6/04) at about 11pm because she was vomitting all her food back up and was looking really unwell. Lulu had been in a fight and had an infected abcess on her head. I got her back from the vet on Friday after they had cleaned up her abcess but she was still throwing up so I had to take her back again on Saturday. They checked her and I took her home on Sunday only to have to take her back to the Animal Emergency Centre on Monday (14/6/04) as she was still vomitting. Monday was Queen's birthday holiday so the normal vet clinic wasn't open. The vet took Xrays of Lulu's stomach and was going to operate on Lulu today if she didn't improve. Luckily today the vet said that she is keeping her food down and Xrays are showing that her stomach isn't blocked. So I should be able to take her home from the vet tomorrow if she stays well. I hope so!!
I had my computing exam this morning. It is a bit long but not too bad I guess. Now I have finished my computing studies for this semester. What a relief :-). That means I can spend more time learning Chinese. I also what to improve this web site :-)
I have been reading some good books by the Australian children's author, Isobelle Carmody. She grew up in Geelong. The first book in the series is called "OberNewtyn". The story is about the Earth in the future, a long time after it has been ravaged by nuclear war. Modern civilisation has been destroyed so life is quite basic. Some of the people are developing psychic powers and the girl is one of them. It is a very exciting series!
I am thinking of you a lot Miss Em. It has been way too long since I saw you last but I don't think I can do a lot about that. I'll just keep praying and thinking happy thoughts for you :-)
Lots and lots of love,

Hi Em,
Hope you are well. Welcome to June 2004! I am very tired as I have been flat out in the last four days getting two computing assignments finished (I took Thursday 3/6/04 and Friday 4/6/04 off work). I got the assignments finished but I could have done a better job on them. I really have a bad habit of leaving things too late and then rushing at the end. Hopefully I'll learn one day!!
I normally go to English Conversation classes on Mondays but I am just too tired tonight. So I had better go to bed. I hope you are happy and safe where you are.
Love you heaps and heaps,
