Hello Em,
I am really missing you. I guess I just need to be patient and keep trying to make contact - so I'll make sure I do that! I have been busy with more computer study lately. One interesting thing I did was to see the movie "Le Cercle Rouge" at the Astor Cinema last Sunday (25/4/04). It is quite an old French movie (made in 1970 I think) that is about some thieves who carry out a jewel robbery and a detective who is tracking them down. It probably doesn't sound very interesting but it is actually very tense and atmospheric. Alain Delon and Yves Montard (two French actors) are really good. You wouldn't want to watch it now but when you are older you might like it.
I did quite well in my Chinese test but I think I don't know my characters very well yet. I really need to practise them more!

Dear Emma,
I hope you are well Miss Em. Things are OK here. Yesterday (Friday 23/4/04) I saw our cousin Audrey which was really nice. She lives in Towoomba, Queensland with her husband Tim. They both came down because Tim had a work conference in Melbourne. I couldn't meet Tim (as he was busy in the conference) but I met Audrey in town. We had lunch with one of her friends called Neville and then went to the National Gallery of Victoria to look at the Caravaggio paintings. It is a good thing to have cousins. I don't think you ever meet Audrey but I'm sure you would like her.
The weather has been pretty wintery lately. On Friday it rained very heavily and was quite chilly. It is good to have the rain for the garden though. That reminds me that I really must tidy up the garden. It is getting a bit messy!
This morning I had a Chinese test. It wasn't too bad as I am only doing the easier Chinese class this year. I shouldn't say too much until I get my mark though should I :-)
It is not far away from your birthday Emma. I had better start doing some shopping for you soon. I don't want to sent anything very late as I did with Easter!

Dear Em,
I hope you are well. I have finally posted your Easter presents this morning at the Kerrimuir Post Office. Sorry they will be so late!. I really hope they get to you. Just in case I took the photos below to show you what I sent. I hope you like the Tintin book. I think you will. Tintin's dog "Snowy" is really nice.


(I did send you the Narnia tape "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" too but I forgot to put it in the photograph. I took a separate photo of the tape but it turned out all blurry. So you'll just have to trust me that I did send that as well :-)
I didn't do a lot at the long Easter weekend but it was really nice to have a rest and to catch up wuith some sleep. I did see two really nice movies in a double feature at the Astor Theatre in St Kilda. They were "Mr Hulot's Holiday" and "Mon Oncle". They are two old French comedies starring Jacques Tati. They are very funny. I could hardly stop laughing in parts. I'm sure you would really like to see these two movies :-)

Dear Emma,
I hope you are well Miss Em. I hope your Easter is going well too! Sorry I haven't written for a more than a week. I was so bust getting my assignments done that I didn't have time to do almost anything else. The first assignment was due on last Monday (5/4/04) and the second was due on Thursday (8/4/04). I only just made both deadlines - phew!!!
Today is Good Friday. I helped out at the church today, which was nice. I even got to ring the church bell at the start of the service. It was quite a thrill. You definitely would have enjoyed doing that :-) !
I have brought some Easter goodies for you Emma (a chocolate rabbit, an Easter egg and some fruit sweets). I would like to get you a book or something too. I will send all these but they will be a bit late for Easter. Sorry!!
