Hi Emma,
Hope you are well. My yellow car got towed to the garage this morning,
poor thing. But she is getting fixed up. The problem was water getting into
the engine, which is not a good thing to have! In the evening after work, I
saw two more old black and white films that were part of the F.W. Murnau film
festival. The first was called "Schloss Vogeloed" and the second was "Faust".
With Faust they had live music played by four musicians. They were called the
Ang Fang Quartet. The music they played was great. I think you would have
liked it (but may be not the film as it was a bit scary!).
Love you heaps and always thinking of you,
Aaron

Hello Em,
Hope all is well. I helped out at church this morning on their working bee.
It went from 9am to 12 noon. First I helped Chris and some others clip the
hedge out the front as it was too high and made the church look unfriendly.
After that I helped pull out some weeds and trim some trees. It was quite fun
and didn't feel like hard work as there were so many people helping.
This weekend I am also reading the book "Black Arrow" by Robert Louis
Stevenson. He is the same person who wrote "Treasure Island". You really liked
listening to the Treasure Island tape in the car so you might like the books
too. They are very exciting stories.
Love and best wishes, Aaron

Hello Emma,
Hope you are well. I got my yellow car from from the garage today.
It is sounding really good. It sounds more like a cat purring than an old
tractor that rattles and bangs along. Great!
We found a baby crow outside at work today. It was very cute with
nice black feathers but it was too young to fly. In the evening I took
it to the Animal Emergency Centre in Burwood. The vet nurse checked the
baby crow over and said he was fine. They will release him back to the
wild once he is strong enough to fly.
Another thought I had about about this web diary was that it would be more
interesting with some pictures to go with it. So I'll do that!
Love you heaps, Aaron

Hi Emma,
Hope you are well. Do you remember the two pigeons that come to finish off
Lulu's food? They come almost every morning. When I got up this morning they
were both sitting on the deck by the sun room, waiting for me to come out. So
they are not very shy about asking for food! I took a photo of them but it
didn't come out too well (I was too far away ) so I'll try again.
Today I bought a couple of photos frames for two of your photos that weren't
framed properly. They look much better now. After that I went to do an
assignment at Deakin so not very interesting. I also read a bit of another
book by Diana Wynne Jones called "Year of the Griffin". As you may have
noticed, I really like reading books by Diana Wynnes Jones!
Love and best wishes, Aaron

Hello Em,
Hope you are well. I had another go at photographing the pigeons having
breakfast this morning. I got closer to them this time so it was better than
my earlier effort. Hope you like it (and sorry about the uncut grass. I mowed
the front lawn last weekend but haven't done the back one yet!)
Today I had a days annual leave from work so I could work on my computing
assignment. It's due this Monday. After a bit of a slow start in the morning I
did get quite a lot done - thank goodness. When I came home from Deakin I
listened to a Goon show record before going to sleep. I really enjoy listening
to Spike, Peter and Harry. If you ever feel in need of a laugh, try them!
Love you and thinking of you always,

Hi Emma,
Hope you are well. I have spend most of the weekend just gone finishing off
my assignment. Thanks goodness that is over now!
I heard an interesting music program on the radio on Saturday morning when I was
driving to Chinese class. They had two people clapping the same simple pattern
over and over. Then one of the clappers changed their starting place in the
pattern slightly at each repetition. It was amazing how different it made sound,
with the two people going from clapping at the same time to being completely
different then back to together again. Music is a fascinating subject. I think
you know this as you are already really good at music!
Love and best wishes, Aaron

Hello Emma,
Hope you are well. Things are fine here. After work today I went to the Box
Hill Library and got a few books. I really enjoy spending time in libraries.
They are full of interesting books and stuff. You can always find at least one
special, interesting thing in a library and then you are even allowed to take it
home with you for a while. Cool!
I want to do some more Chinese study
tonight. I am really enjoying my classes but I haven't been spending enough time
learning my characters. Now we are not using pinyin so much so it is very
important I can recognise the characters. Wish me luck!
Love you very much,
Aaron
P.S. I'll try to take some more pictures this weekend to brighten
this page up!

Hi Emma,
Hope you are well. Chinese class was pretty good this morning. We were
learning about visiting the doctor. After class I went shopping for a birthday
present for cousin Joe in New Zealand. I bought a book called "The Demon
Headmaster" by Gillian Cross. It is a funny and exciting story about an evil
headmaster who wants to control the world and some students who have to stop
him. I'm sure your school isn't like this!!
In the evening I saw a Tai Chi
exhibtion. A friend from work had invited me. It was quite fascinating to watch. The
grace and strength of the participants made me realise how much I need to
exercise myself!
Love you heaps. Always thinking of you,
Aaron

Hi Em,
Hope you are well. Today was much more interesting I am happy to say! After work I went into Melbourne city to see a film at ACMI (Australia Centre for the Moving Image). It was called "Chinese Ghost Story". It was part of a film festival about Leslie Cheung. You know Leslie from TV I think. I first saw this movie in Wellington in the early nineties and I really liked it. It is a story about a young tax collector (Leslie) who trys to rescue a lovely female ghost spirit from a wicked tree monster. Luckily he gets lots of help from a Daoist monk. It was nice to see this movie again after such a long time. I think you would enjoy seeing it too.
Lots and lots of love,
Aaron xx oo
